Handyphone or Tablet PC displays eye charts

The person walks a few feet away from the tablet pc, which not only displays charts, App estimates how far away you are from the camera, then it describes a glasses prescription. Replaces optometrists at the developing world, making any apocathery a place where people can improve their vision

the chart that determines "astigmatism" is two circles near each other

oo

if they overlap at a particular angle the person has astigmatism, so the tablet PC app moves the o near the o around a circle at clocklike positions. when it finds where the person sees one o, then thats that measurement.

if it was an actual apocathery they would of course have the person stand a suggest distance from the handphone ortablet pc, yet the app might be able to figure this out as well from the person holdingup a coin or a standard sized object the app could look up at adatabase.

I'm still waiting for opticians to discover the kanji eyechart as an aid to selling glasses.

I just do it with a print-out and a tape measure, or even just a room whose dimensions i know. Having an app is serious overkill.
