Cold steel - Fey defenses

Looking at the Dr Beeching railway cuts of the 1960‘s with a slightly different perspective, I can’t but see that as lowering the UK’s national defenses against the Fey.

I mean, every tin-pot town or village used to have a branch line, overlaying the UK with a ready made grid, quarantining the threat into manageable areas, allowing occult military resources to cleanse areas and then move on, Kitchener stylee.

I will have to write to Charles Stross and point out this glaring omission, when the nurse gives me back the crayons.

NB I did finally get around to making the “Crank” stamp, at least in digital form - Exhibit A

A matrix of rowan trees and red thread might achieve the same result at lower cost, and also be claimable as a carbon sink.

       "Einsatzkommando" ....

Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener, of Khartoum and of the Vaal in the Colony of Transvaal and of Aspall in the County of Suffolk, was far too much of a gentleman to do a "proper job" (i.e. there are no survivors, not even bacteria, and in most of the areas no vegetation will ever grow again).

The chap you want is General Curtis LeMay or his nearest available equivalent -

"We must be willing to continue our bombing until we have destroyed every work of man in North Vietnam if this is what it takes to win the war."

Definitely a zombie virus solution for the remnants of humanity. Trains are also good at carting stuff away.

If we're all zombies, then who's driving the trains?

       Secret Nazi space androids.

Ah yes, "Deutsche Reichsbahn, ghettos cleared while you wait. Anything from one dissenting cleric to an entire racial or religious minority- no job too large or too small. Ask about our new" cattle truck" super-economy service … like Ryanair on tracks"

So Hilter received the premonition advice of how to deal with a global pandemic but deeply and woefully misinterpreted?
