Your teeth are cleaned professionally. Immediately afterwards, a fully accurate mold is made of the inside of your mouth. A three-dimensional image of the mold is uploaded to a computer, which then instructs a mechanized device to remove everything from your mouth that is not your teeth, gums, etc.
via ultra-high frequency sound waves or the like.
A new mold will made every so often to reflect natural changes of the configuration of your mouth (growth, tooth movement, etc.)
