Seems as though especially nowadays
Officials, charged with the responsibility of
scripting rules and regulations (that
become
bills and eventually morph into laws), get
away with presenting some of the
stupidest
ideas!
A lot of those idiotic suggestions happen
to
garner certain
advantage getting
streamlined through the capillary action of
'the buddy system.'
I propose that there may be a significant
tax savings achieved if Law Makers were
required to pre-screen their ideas by way
of
free non-enterprising scrutinization
through
mandatory HalfBakery submissions!

There's no way I'd want to live in a country
where people like me played any part in
the legal framework. But [+] if this means
we can help to shape French law. |
|
| |
Oh, we would be great at vetting legislation for others. |
|
| |
Piracy would be made legal
Massive infrastructure projects would get done
Space exploration would be back on the books
Puns and poetry would be part of otherwise serious documents
Household goods would be a lot more fun
Wars would be fought over cats
Correct spelling and grammar would be mandatory
Cars would be a lot less safe
Emerging technologies would receive a lot more funding and attention
Wars would be fought with custard and tumbleweeds |
|
| |
I'd prefer it if we could fight wars with cats
over custard and tumbleweeds. |
|

If we had Vernon and Treon rewrite all the bills, nobody would or could read them. |
|
| |
That's who writes current legislation, isn't it? |
|
| |
Yeah, have you read a bill lately? |
|
| |
Legaleese should be registered as a separate language. |
|
| |
How would you prevent this lot from suggesting puerile amendments, hand over fist? |
|
| |
There is no real division; |
|
| |
That may be flawwed as well. |

//puerile amendments//...or body cavity
type, gelish, substantiating add ons??? |

That was close to a haiku, but not quite. May I suggest: |
|
| |
There is no real division
Only decisions
Made coarse in hasty moments. |
|
| |
Haiku is always to a 5:7:5 metre |
|
| |
No real divisions,
Only decisions made coarse
In hasty moments |
|
| |
It should also contain a reference to seasonality, strictly speaking. |
|
| |
When you say seasons
Do you mean a time of year
or salt and pepper ? |
|
| |
No real seasons
Just decisions made spicy
In tasty moments |
|
| |
When writing haiku,
Seventeen syllables with
Last line, time of year |
|
| |
Bugger me! I for
got to get card and flowers.
Valentine's day. Shit. |

//Wars would be fought over cats// |
|

shirley you mean "Wars would be fought
with cats? " |
|
| |
Nevertheless the site would be overrun with "the bad people". Maybe a meta site where people of reason would be secretly invited to join the secret Half Legislatury and kabal the making of laws. A internet "Jerga for Justice" in legislation. |
|

Just saying, uncensored debate would
probably be better than just listening to
TIMA, HAL, and VIKI. |
