The point at which clocks go forward for daylight saving should change from 1am on a Sunday to 3:30pm on a Friday. The point at which clocks go back should remain unchanged.

When I rule the world, I'll implement this idea as well, at the same time Extra_20hour_20in_2...20in_20the_20winter

       You're union, aren't you?

Now, had you said to start Winter an hour later on a Friday night *after* work, I'd have bunned this.
Dub, Mar 27 2011

Last time the clocks went back, I was doing a 12-hour night shift and had to work an extra hour for free :-(
idris83, Mar 27 2011

Everyone should get the hour as credit to use as they see fit.

Sounds too good to be true.
blissmiss, Mar 27 2011

excellent idea - I'm going to take it up with my MP

       Impractical, costly and unnecessary. Bun.

// had to work an extra hour //

What is this "work" of which you hu-mons speak ? Your words are strange to us.

// Everyone should get the hour as credit to use as they see fit. //

Would they get debited in the Autumn, though ?

How long before there is a campaign to add extra hours into Saturdays and Sundays ?

Our words are strange to us, too.

Thus ariseth consesnsus, and the EU bureaucrats are happy.

Too simple. Let's just rock the clock five or ten minutes every month.
normzone, Mar 27 2011

Actually, it would have to be ten minutes forward per month for six months, then ten minutes backward again, starting from the winter solstice.

Bizarrely, that would work out pretty much right.
8th of 7, Mar 27 2011

So... 62 mins per hour in Winter, and 58 in Summer months - Would that work, too?
We could call the scheme GHT, "Greenwich Half Time"
Dub, Mar 27 2011

       So, is this every Friday?

//12-hour night shift and had to work an extra hour for free//

If you work by the hour in the US, that's illegal.

I work by the month in the UK
idris83, Mar 29 2011

       That's unamerican!
nomocrow, Mar 30 2011

       That’s good.
Ian Tindale, Mar 30 2011

At these wages it should be.
