Why outsource when close enough?

Good idea, but there seems to be quite a few "wifi walkie talkie" hits on google.
FlyingToaster, Feb 01 2018

Walkie Talkie apps would be stand alone, initated apps.

This software, if phone hardware is more unlocked, is an installed subroutine of the dialer and operates before network connection and charges. I would probably limit app users to 2 or 3 quick wifi adhoc pass ons before ringing the big boys.

Of course, the network providers will put a hit out on you for this ...

Would “Exceedingly local calling” be where the mouthpiece of the phone can initiate a two-way duplex voice call to the earpiece of the same phone – in real time?

[Ian] //"Exceedingly local calling"// That's has to be Bluetooth from the couch to kitchen.

They have to debate fine points of ideas somehow.
