This is a spring board or platform diving competition where the
divers are allowed to
wear
foam wings or whole aerodynamic foam suits so that they can
do more excellent acrobatics in the
air on the way down. They should wear streamers too, and air-
scoop whistles embedded in their foam suits.

Welcome back from Feather Propellor land, JHC. This is a fine concept. I can definitely see beverage companies sponsoring an event of this sort. |

This could work, but if you're only diving from a 10m platform, you're not going to have much airspeed to work with, for most of your dive. The problem is similar to that of BASE jumpers, or skydivers jumping from a balloon: you can't really use any aerodynamic effects until you've had time to build up a useful airspeed. |

I'm also not failing to be unconvinced that foam is the best option. In terms of aerodynamic surface area per unit weight, nylon fabric might be better. Also, a foam suit would limit the range of contortions they can perform. |

On the other hand, this is the least dumb idea you have posted recently, so I will reciprocate by awarding this idea the least possible number of fishbones. |

I'm torn between demanding high diving boards and small pools and high boards and large pools. |

Also, in addition of wings how about various counter weights for rotation assistance? |

This could actually just be an individual who hacks the
Flugtag. |
