Jar lids that seldom stick.

A handy tip for opening stuck jar lids is to put a rubber band around the lid and the added grip lets you open it.

So why not just make the lids with a rubber edge so that they shouldn't be too hard to open in the first place?

translate DrC - the idea is excellent, cannot find anything baked or half-baked so nitpick on the title.

I agree with the hotdoc, it should be 'even a girl can open this jar lid'. +1 neat idea.

       This is, quite frankly, mega.

[Later: just checked your site, liam. Have you been secretly controlling my word choice with a top secret remote word choice control device?]

Is that synonomous with "condom cohabitator" [waugs]?
bristolz, Feb 23 2003

It was a common name for those rubber jar openers.

Not just rubber; the lid should have a countoured grip.

If a jar lid's stuck on through a vacuum, I get out the centre-punch and a pin hammer. <pfffffft> And then I reseal the small hole with a bit of tape.

MFY, you should post that as a separate idea, then use it to make the annos read in the opposite sense to the votes. That'd confuse 'em.
