Programmers live on Mountain Dew, it's a proven fact. Actually, companies should budget a supply of the programming fuel into their projects.

One of the challenges facing programmers is that annoying problem of having to get up every so often to get more. This can a big problem when working through an especially tough section of code before we get it out of our head and into the computer.

The 'Dew Fountain would attach to the monitor for easy access and work just like any other soda fountain at any fast food place (that would help with training since we already understand fast food procedures). When our giant soda cup ran out of 'Dew we could quickly and easily fill it up without moving.

Of course, there's still the problem of those frequent visits to the rest room, but I'll leave that for a future idea (thus, this idea is "half baked").

       [General Washington]: There is plenty of caffeine in that beverage. You may be surprised at how many other popular beverages also contain significant amounts of caffeine and/or its chemical relatives.   

       [half]: I am not a programmer, per se, but I do write code now and then. Sometimes for hours on end, and usually without caffeine. I've discovered that caffeine may keep me awake, but it won't keep me alert. The return just isn't worth the cost.

       I'm convinced that caffeine actually severely reduces mental performance. I once stayed up all night at university revising for a maths exam, something I've often done with previous exams with no problem. I drank about 5 jugs of really strong filter coffee throughout the night and by morning I literally couldn't add two numbers together. I got kicked out of uni for failing that.

       I generally find that it isn't the caffeine its the amount of sugar that keeps me going, which is why I drink my coffee quite sweet. Of course I'm not a programmer so that doesn't really matter to me whatsoever

       Some drugs have pretty much the same effect on everone. Caffeine is just the opposite. Which is why there is so much debate about it. One dose doesn't fit all.

       mountan dew differs from country to country. for instance, in the USA Mt. Dew has half the caffine of coffe, while in Canada it has none.   

       people sometimes forget what the first 2 w's in www stand for.
