How to begin... sitting on this chair in Okinawa I couldn't but help noticing those US military assets lying about.

Instead of all that sneaking across the Pacific* and then getting into the bombers etc, it would have saved the Japanese forces a vast amount time and effort if the enemy's assets were considerably closer to hand.. Of course it would take the fun out of it, but there you go.

All those lovely airbases, the planes, the ships.. nods as good as wink..

* Pacific War, is that an oxymoron, or it just me?

** this category. Is it possible to have a private war? They do tend to get a bit noisy.
