If one wears spectacles, it's very hard to keep a pen or pencil behind an ear - a convenient lodging place.

Hence "Pentacles" - spectacles with sidepieces that have clips to hold a ballpoint pen on one side and a pencil (0.5mm propelling) on the on the other.

That's it.

Those would be "pocktacles," [Phoenix]. Their design could be be said to be "apocktaclyptic."

       would they help you spell?

       a) But wouldn't you have to take your glasses off when you write?
b) People still use pens?
waugsqueke, Sep 25 2002

I need one for my graphics tablet pen (sticks tongue out at waugs)

I use a chisel and slabs of marble, papyrus if it's just a quick note.

[blissmiss] I don't get what pig farmers do with their pens when they take their glasses off...
hollajam, Sep 25 2002

       Dear John,
Thanx ever sow much for the pentacles. The glasses are perfect for my daily double of slop & schnaps. The pig pen is just the thing for keeping the little porkies out of trouble.

       Duh. Jeez! Dag Nabbit.

I think I just stepped in the shinola.
hollajam, Sep 26 2002

I wear glasses and keep my pen behind my ear. I haven't found it a problem so far. Fumbling around with clips on the side of my glasses every time I wanted to write something would just make me more of a laughing stock than I am already.

I'd go for something that can be brought into action a bit more quickly. A flick-pen perhaps?

Nice link Sleepy....I thought of adding a similar one when this first appeared, but then decided against it

       I think we know that.

       // a friend of [waugsqueke], perhaps? //

"Dragons don't have any friends. The nearest thing a Dragon has to a friend is an enemy that's still alive" (Terry Pratchett, "Guards ! Guards !").

Additional idea: Maybe the pen could be held on by some of that flexible self-adhesive magnetic strip stuff.
