A bit like role play for the half bakers. A new site with a similar setup to the halfbkery, (or a section of the half bakery.) where bakers post well baked idea's (the wheel, fire, paper money etc.) in the style of a half bakery posting. The annotation and discussion could continue in the normal manner (but as though the idea had never been baked) everyone should react in the normal way they do to an idea.

Example;

Idea;Circular movement assistance
Summary: A more efficient way to drag things around
Description:I propose circular devices to be positioned at the corners of some kind of pallet. These would be free to roll, in the same way as a log rolls down a hill. The circular parts could be produced in marble, or wood, to match the kinds of thing that are to be moved around.

Example [DrCurry} Annotation; Baked - Dung beetles.

This idea could be enhanced if the site were self-satirical and people posted baked ideas in the style of other bakers. Fire in the style of [vernon] anyone?

You know, it would be really great if there was an internet site where you could post ideas, and have other people comment on them.
PeterSilly, Sep 04 2002

But first you'd have to design some form of electronic jiggery pokery to allow instantaneous communication over large distances. I don't see how it would be possible to do this with out the use of pigeons.
Zircon, Sep 04 2002

       You can train pigeons!?

If I could write Perl I'd make this into my very own HB spin-off. However, I haven't learned Perl yet.
Yet.
NickTheGreat, Sep 04 2002

Apparently someone French is looking into it.
sild, Sep 04 2002

They can't not yet, France hasn't been invented.... Now I bet thats an idea that gets a few fishbones.
Zircon, Sep 04 2002

Dammit, those French *again* - will I never get there first?
Well, if 'there' is East, then probably not.
NickTheGreat, Sep 04 2002

What are all these funny black signs? Did someone invent language and not tell me?
pottedstu, Sep 04 2002

       Circular Movement Assistance:

I thought this would be an idea for some sort of system for distributing circulars, memos and other such documents as required. Perhaps some system of tubes or whatnot distributed through a company building. Circulars could be placed in little metal cylinders that would be fired down the tubes to their destinations.
Guy Fox, Sep 04 2002

Hardly qualifies for the prebakery though, does it?
NickTheGreat, Sep 04 2002

Well, it's not the most *original* idea. It was, after all, half-prebaked (pre-halfbaked? preprebaked?) in the film Brazil. Obviously, it's an absurd idea that would never work in actuality. I can't imagine department stores or offices using such a system. All through the mid-part of the last century. No, not at all.
Guy Fox, Sep 04 2002

Wheels are a stupid idea. Why would you want things to move in a circle? They'd never get anywhere. Straight lines and dragging are where it's at.
pottedstu, Sep 04 2002

       ---Glowing orange magic air---

Strike two pieces of flint together repeatedly until small orange jumping pixies are produced. Let the magic pixies jump on to dry tree bits and they will almost immediately make the surrounding air glow orange and make warmness for a short distance above.

Idea: A Good Excuse for a Nap

       Description:
1) Separate light from darkness.
2) Separate waters on either side (above and below) of a dome.
3) Gather together the waters under the dome so that dry land appears. Seed the land with all kinds of plants.
4) Install lights in the dome.
5) Toss in a bunch of animals.
6) Introduce an intelligent, male, bipedal animal with a soul and free will, genetically engineered from mud. Add a female one cloned from a rib of taken from the male.
7) Take a nap.

Annotation: "<obligatory 'genetic engineering is not permissible' post>. Read the help file, ya stoopid noob."
beauxeault, Sep 04 2002

All of this talk of pixies and fairies sounds like magic or WIBNI to me.

       have we invented physics yet?

All that stuff about Brazil and Barberella, thats just WIGTTIMODSIAM(WMAI)WIBNIIWR Which stands for; Wasn't it great that thing I might one day see in a movie, (When movies are invented), would't it be nice it it were real.
Zircon, Sep 05 2002

[Zircon] I think you might have been meaning:
WTHBBGTTIMODBSIAM(WMWHBBI)WTHBNITWBR [Which stands for] wouldn't they have been being great, those things I might have one day been seeing in a movie, (When movies would have been being invented), wouldn't they have been nice if they were being real.
lewisgirl, Sep 05 2002

Wouldn't it have been great if the keyboard had been invented, then I could type some sort of response to this idea.
kaz, Sep 05 2002

But all this presupposes the notion that there are other people with whom this 'discussion' would take place. As I am well aware, what appear to be other people are just figments of my imagination.
hippo, Sep 05 2002

(Hmm, let me think... Yes, I know!)

Let there be light.

(I wonder what will happen next.)

Flagellum!! Don't just sit still in the primordial ooze. move around!
gootyam, Sep 05 2002

I have an idea, therefore I am. Maybe we should make a really big bang and see what develops in a few billion years.
FarmerJohn, Sep 05 2002

Baked! There was already that big crunch; that was like your idea of a 'big bang' but in reverse.
Zircon, Sep 05 2002

I think [thumbwax] is trying to get a point across. Curse my lack of a monitor to see it on.

Oh damn, I left the Glyph-Lock on again.. When will they EVER invent the AT keyboard?
Mr Burns, Sep 05 2002

I'd croissant this, but in the spirit of the idea, I'll just give it a nice warm bowl of sourdough starter.

Wait a second; I can't give anyone's idea anything, because I haven't been invented yet. Pardon me, everyone ... (retreats back into the primordial soup)
1percent, Sep 06 2002

Something about this idea has completely escaped me. What was it... oh yes, the attraction. I'm not getting it.

Back in school I once tricked a less studious kid into thinking that was "Avocado's" number. I still remember the bemused look of incredulity on the teachers face - as the kid gave a speech about atomic numbers and Moles. (Don't anyone even think of hijacking a Mole pun here)
Jinbish, Sep 06 2002

You did indeed, to great effect. I meant another Mole pun.
Jinbish, Sep 06 2002

Why I oughta..! I should dent your skull for that!
Jinbish, Sep 06 2002

STOPPIT!!! You should be ashamed for such a sneaky, underhanded use of a mathematical pun. I'll make you eat humble pi!

<being slowly bludgeoned to death by maths puns> Can't...go...on...its just plane madness</>
Jinbish, Sep 06 2002

No. Things can only go on a downward curve from here.

       {white flag}

       Apologies to one and all.
Jinbish, Sep 06 2002

ah, this all strikes a chord.
lewisgirl, Sep 06 2002

lewisgirl seems a bit rusty at this. someone better Euler.
General Washington, Sep 06 2002

Don't you start as well. We've already got sum 8 or more maths puns here. None of them. NONE of them are topical. My apology stands.
Jinbish, Sep 06 2002

Fermat la bouche, Jinbish, Fourier thread gets *really* swamped.
General Washington, Sep 06 2002

Ha! We all know you've got Nobel, Bubba.
General Washington, Sep 06 2002

Maybe you have, but it's just too high up for people Turing it.
