For the transport of large sums of cash, the notes are placed in a stainless steel container or flask, which goes inside a plastic jacket - also sealed.

In place of an armoured car, the cylinder is then placed by a robotic arm in a multi position frame which reposes in a tanker truck of raw sewage. When the vehicle reaches its destination, it drives under a gantry and a ram lifts the correct cylinder up to be grabbed by a robotic arm.

The arm takes the cylinder into the building where it is pressure washed. The jacket is then unscrewed, the inner steel cylinder removed, and steam cleaned.

It then passes through into the secure cash handling area.

Anyone wishing to attack the vehicle and steal the money will have 10 tonnes of raw sewage to wade through ...

Now and again, for hygienic reasons, the tank is flushed and fresh sewage loaded.

I tried to find a link to the scene from "The Magic Christian," the Peter Sellers movie, where people are diving head first into a pool of raw sewage to recover the paper money he has tossed into it. No hesitation on their part, whatsoever. Fiction, but the point is made.

Some people would lick the sewage off even a small sum of money.

Isn't this how Jack in the Box transports their hamburgers?

[doc] You mean they wrap 'em around raw sewage? ...Makes sense.

       That's it. Thank you [MB].

And I believe it. I was teasing my son this summer after I came out of a public park outhouse, that I saw a $20 bill down the hole. He was ready to jump right in to get it, until I told him I was kidding. Scary.

Never underestimate the ingenuity of thieves, 8th. I suspect the access point for your robotic arm is the weak point in this system. <linky>

This gives money laundering a whole new meaning. Bun. [+]

[8th_of_7] are not the sort of people to overlook _Magic Christian_. I suspect a nefarious scheme here. Thieves will dive into raw sewage to recover the money, and then ... no money.
