Instead of a needle, it uses a laser to read optical CDs
and plays the
music therein as it drives around in circles on top of the
disc. Now since the car would have to drive around the
CD at
500 RPM it would need some modification but nothing we
couldn't figure out. See link for vinyl version.

I guess I should say semi-modernize it because CDs are
dead too now, which is sad, because there's no toy car
player possibilities for MP3s. You'd just have to have a
little
toy car drive around in circles while you listen to your
MP3
while wondering what the meaning of life is.
Maybe have it look even more old timey just to be interesting.

What do you have in mind for the modernization? The fact
that it will play on cd's somehow instead of vinyl? (You are
adding information while I'm thinking. Must stop

The little car could be big and scan the whole disk in one short drive. A roller would be perfect, two scanning drums.The roller could then pretended to work to the audio of the disc. A disc of roadside safety lectures would be intriguing. |
