Urban Forestry
A business generating a variety of products from urban wood sources | |
A business that would take assorted wood wastes that are available in an urban area (tree trimmings, whole tree removals, furniture, building rennovations etc.) and convert them into a range of products based on a hierarchy of saleability and price.
A collection service would ensure that sufficent
raw material supply was available, as well a drop off area for tradesman would allow them to dispose of work related wastes that they may have to otherwise pay to dispose of.
Potential products include; refurbished furniture, refinished timbers and boards, firewood, wood chips for garden mulching, wood chips for papermaking - would need to control species included for this application

The largest urban wood source is newspaper and junk mail. |

There is already an adequate solution to the reuse of urban paper waste though. Much of the material that I am talking about will end up in a tip somewhere. |

Fruit-crate furniture was baked in the Great Depression. Now, you can buy furniture that just _looks_ like it was made from old fruit crates. |
