shed light on history

These are just candles that depict in wax sculpture infamous/naughty/rude etc acts/events/scenes etc from history. By way of offering a doubly awful pun, I suggest that the Roman Scandle, for example, would perhaps illustrate Nero fiddling while Rome burned. It has its own built-in special flame effect, too.

Any other dreadful wax-related wordplay gratefully received.

As opposed to scandals - a lovingly hand-tooled replica of the actual footwear the emperor Caligula was wearing when he seduced his sister.

Exactly the sort of thing I had in mind.

It's so easy to make a dubious scandlestick. Just think of the possibilities for the media!
