Putting something in a big magnetic field spin polarizes it, and spin polarized molecules have different chemistry, could spin polarizing either the melt, the strand, or the cooled strand of optical fiber make it more transparent
Electrons have a thing called spin, and when you put something in a big magnet it spin polarizes. Spin polarization is durable enough that there is a kind of electronics called spintronics made from durable components.
It is possible to spin polarize fiber optics at the melt or the fiber draw, or
after cooling? This could be possible. If it does then the optical fiber has different characteristics some of which might be useful

||Making stuff in unique conditions or environments is always a good thing to think about. This would be down to molecular material science. How good the optic fibre's abilities, under the unique formation conditions, hold up in normal conditions.
||Well optical fibers have two jobs: be as clear as possible at
their core and bounce the light along the path in such a way
as to minimize loss. If it might make the glass clearer that
would be an improvement. There are different modes of
light signals sent through fiber optic cables that might
respond differently to
different processes of manufacture I guess.
