2X Parking Beepers

Beeper system for double stack parked cars

Car attachment near the windshield/Wiper with a sign that says "Press for Owner." Will send a signal to a receiving unit/beeper with the owner. This will allow cars to be parked double stack in restaurants and commercial establishments. Can have a receiving feature on the car unit that lights up "Owner Coming". I've seen a lot of car owners who were "locked in" by another car and have vented their ire on the offending cars paint job or bumper.

May be relevant for big cities only where parking is a problem. Moreover, restaurants can now design their parking lots for double stack parking which is more space efficient.

People aren't going to want to leave their dinner to move their car. Surely valet parking's a better fix?

From my part of the world, valet parking costs a pretty penny. I was really thinking of a parking solution for the common man.

Plus a slightly cold steak is small price to pay compared to a dented, kicked-in fender. :)

It could invite kids to put a key along the side of the car and then press the button to have a laugh at the owner.

Or less drastically, just press the button to annoy the driver.

What about some sort of time-based parking system, where you say what time you intend to leave, and get automatically sent to a certain location. if you are late to leave, you will be charged a much higher fee.

That sounds like an NYC parking garage. "Oh, you overstayed the early bird special by three seconds - that will be $54.12, please."

I leave my cellular number on a scrap of paper on the dash...A cop actually called me; two minutes later I moved the car and, guess what, no ticket!
