No more arguments over baby names ---
'Cause this is a device which lets a baby name itself! With some help...

Here's how it works. The Ba-B Nam"R" is connected to the newborn baby, and, as the parents speak the sounds of different names to the baby, the Ba-B Nam"R" records the baby's brain waves and heartbeat patterns. The sensors tell the parents whether the baby is "happy" when it hears that name, or "sad" (based on comparison to the known brain/heart/physiology patterns of happy babies)

Should the parents have any trouble settling on a name for the baby, they can simply let the baby decide!

This is related to my current life at the moment.. Trying to think of a girls name, due in April. Anyway, the trouble with this idea is that the baby will remain nameless after birth for quite some time until it truely developes a sense of language.

[v0rtexx], [April]'s quite a nice name in itself. It's a bit tmnt of course, but all the same.

I like this in the fact that you are letting the baby choose its own name. I've always been quite astounded as to some of the names parents give their kids. However if this device was to actually work there would be several million kids walking around with names that resemble the sound of blowing a raspberry or Bronx cheer.

-I'm ashamed of the fact that I knew what the "tmnt" reference meant as soon as I read it. -

I'd adjust it so the only name it approved was "Marklar".
