The weather folks will eventually run through their listing of Western names, Shirley, for seasonal storms and have to recycle them. Robert, Anna, William and such names are quite the norm and always manage to offend many people especially when its a destructive storm. While not exactly a bad thing,
offending people, switching to names that are not as common could avoid most of this.
Biblical names are rather uncommon over here in the States so the chances of ticking off Habakkuk when his eponymous storm comes calling are much more remote than, say, Alan. Compiling a list of Hebrew names should give the weather people enough fodder for several decades, after which we can switch over to names of Egyptian Pharaohs and the Babylonians.

As an annual recipient I don't care what you call them. Except "Off." |

I mean, they're called acts of God after all... hmmm.... |

Why not? I'm a big fan of biblical names and measurement units.

I think I posted a movie plot somewhere here about a documentary that follows Elija the prophet into the storm, and discovers the obvious clues of what actually took place, even according to Elisha's version. |
