This may already be baked, but wouldn't it be great to be able to create your own bumper sticker?

Possible uses:

- e-mail address

- business marketing

- messages no-one else would be willing to print such as "Commie bastard!!", etc.

Perhaps it could come with a quick program that takes a text message, gives you a choice of fonts and clip-art, and Voila!! (I know you could do that with most word processors, but how many new computer users would know how to make their own?)

Quite baked, I think. How could it not be? [egnor, Jul 25 2000, last modified Oct 04 2004]

Baked. Long ago one of the 'make money' spams that came through the mail was a bumper sticker printing thing. Was a block of wood with a metal face, a bunch of stickers in different colors, a bunch of magnetic letters, and cans of spraypaint. Put sticker on block, put letters on sticker, spray, viola. <Or cello, for the big ones.>

Baked, but could be improved upon. We had student of the month bumper stickers in middle school on this sort of paper.

The problem with inkjet printers is that most of the old ones (which many people have) don't have waterproof inks. Maybe a clear plastic cover could be included for stickers printed with them.

What a great idea. Every day, I think of something I'd like to have printed on a bumpersticker. (Today: ARE YOUR VALUES YOURS, OR SOMEONE ELSE'S?) Given today's technology, maybe this could best be done with some kind of programmable, message-displaying bumper.

FakeGreenDress: The RBBB site I referenced actually mentioned this issue (that color inkjet inks aren't waterproof). They link to some people who sell waterproof ink cartridges for inkjet printers, and also suggest lamination techniques.

Ander, your sticker reminds me of my favorite, on Keith Dawson's car: MY CONVICTIONS ARE NOT FOR PUBLIC DISPLAY. I don't know if the sticker writer saw the irony of the self-contradiction, but Keith likes it.

Can I have one of those...
