Durian Decals

Decals of the scratch and sniff variety

Pokemon cards, hockey cards, Spice Girls cards...kids will trade anything. How about a line of scratch and sniff decals celebrating that most tropical of fruits the spiky durian? Durian at a roadside stall. A large Durian embedded in some hapless passerbys head after falling from a tree. Durian covertly smuggled onto a Singapore subway car. (it's illegal...see link)

For those unaware of this revered and repulsive fruit it has the subtle taste of melon but the odor of excrement. The odor has been described on various sites as: "carrion in custard", "rotten onions and cheese", or "The rich brimstone musk, whispering of depravity and month-old eggs... durian is to fruit what limburger is to cheese and pornography is to literature."

Great for annoying people, but something better would be lickable durian flavored panels along the lines of the fruit flavored wallpaper from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Obviously it takes away the smell issue.

As Samuel L. Jackson might say: "Durian may taste like pumpkin pie, but I wouldn't know because I don't eat the smelly mother..."

Smell is a big part of what we perceive as taste; anything you could lick and identify as "fruit flavor" will have engaged your nose as well as your tongue. So, no, this doesn't "take away the smell issue" - at least not entirely.

While Durian fruit are hard to find, Durian candy may be available from your friendly neighborhood Asian food superstore.

[UnaBubba, I don't see how what you write contradicts me.]
