A similar dispenser as a bubblegum machine which you have outside shops in the street except this one dispenses pickled eggs into a little paper cup with a tiny plastic bottle of tobasco and a small sachet of salt.

You pop in your coin/coins, the egg drops into a separate compartment at the bottom with the vinegar, the compartment drains returning the vinegar to the main bubble with the other eggs and when that's complete out pops your pickled egg.

Each pickled egg dispenser need only have fresh pickled eggs added every 2 months.

       MMmmm, pickled eggs ...aarrauaarrrraarrraaua...

       (Homer Simpson)

What is this, a snack? I've learned more about the eating customs of HalfBakers than I ever wanted to know.

       // What is this, a snack //

My understanding is that it's some sort of self-service biological weapon.

       Pickled eggs ? Yeuuuuurchk.

Isn't there some sort of delicacy that someone does by pickling the egg for a million years or something?

And btw, Isn't a chicken an egg dispenser?

I've got acquainted with this excellent pickle on a trip to West Virginia. I've had my first, and successful, try at it this week.

Just hard-boil the eggs, put them in a jar with soft-boiled beet and cover with vinegar. Ready within a day or two.

And you would want these, why??? Ewww....

we could just pickle the chicken and beat him to the punch.

//pickle the chicken and beat him to the punch//

I was under the impression that male chickens (or whatever they are called) don't lay eggs.

So, [skinflaps], you're the one that eats those things? I've never been brave enough to try them. I've heard that people eat them while drinking in bars/pubs. I think I can see the connection there.

The dispenser sounds like a reasonable idea. (+) Might be easier to have a mechanism lift the egg out as opposed to all the seals and pumps necessary to accomplish what you describe.

Rods, please use the <obligitory chicken pun> tags.

I'm fully behind the pickled egg lobby. Frankly the pie & pasty lobbyman (//Pickled eggs ? Yeuuuuurchk.//) should roll his tongue back in before those barefoot 3rd world meatpackers grind it into a pie. Quick dose of egg coli does you good in the morning. Immune system whirring all day long mmm-mmmmmmm.

Per [UB] - always thought it was the other way round, myself.
whimsickle, Oct 25 2002

Perhaps, [whims] but did it dispense the egg before or after it crossed the street
blissmiss, Oct 25 2002

That's the oldest yolk of them all, [bliss].

Sorry I'm late with this, but isn't this just like a chicken whoare?
