Since there always have been homeless, probably always will, let's get them to pay for our roads. At Highway overpasses in urban areas build in cheap hotels which feature a bargain rate liquor store. What more could a bum ask- a small 4x6 room and a $4 fifth of Bourbon?

and it was accidental too"(the clash - in a car jam) I saw this at 11 in DC and have pondered it ever since.

Having been homeless (by choice, I lived in my truck for a year to save money and get out of debt) I know the one thing that all homeless people really need to get ahead is: A shower. You can wash your clothes, feed your face and find some sort of shelter without a home, but getting cleaned up is darn hard. I was able to get a health spa membership, but most can not. |

The vast majority of homeless people have some sort of mental problem. Nothing serious, just low I.Q., mild paranoia, depression, etc... nothing that will get them into a metal hospital or jail, but enough to keep them out of a job or a steady living arrangement. Lots of them are just blue collar workers who had some sort of bad luck and havent been able to find a way out of it yet. Once you're down, the climb is hard. |

And I would really like to point out that some are Vietnam Vets. Haven't they been through enough? |

Rather than make fun of homeless people and dart off nasty little barbs about hookers and booze, why not offer help at the next stand down or push the city for a public shower, or, just offer a shower or bath and some old but clean clothes to a family down on thier luck? |
