Highly emotional piano

Bend the strings on the piano, as they are done on a guitar

I would like to see a piano with bendable notes. Bending notes on an instrument, such as a guitar, provide a highly emotional voice. Perhaps the development of such an instrument has been prevented by the required continuous presence of a professional piano tuner on site in case the note bending takes the string(s) out of tune. This piano would use an electro-mechanical auto tuner such as those used on the Gibson Auto Tuning guitar to allow tuning in different keys and styles, vlike a guitar, as well. If the musician is not steadfast in their demand for a real stringed piano, this may already be possible on a synthesized piano. Any links to such demonstrations would be appreciated.

What you need is a Continuum Fingerboard http://www.marksmar...nuum/continuum.html
Not quite keys, but looks interesting. [RayfordSteele, Feb 28 2013]

The Ondes Martenot is beautiful. I hear numerous science fiction musical themes and sound effectts coming from it. Thanks to all for the introduction to the instrument [Sunstone, Mar 01 2013]

Kinda reminds me of a sitar. It's a slide piano synthesizer; I can see it used in Star Wars country music bar. Thank you for posting the link. [Sunstone, Mar 01 2013]

I had an idea similar to this awhile back. I think I called it 'Tickle-the-Ivories' Keyboard. The idea was that the key had capacitive touch capability that could identify where on the key it was being touched, and if you jiggled your fingers or somesuch it would go into vibrato or a whammy-bar kind of mode.

The clavichord can be played in such a way as to bend the note after striking it.
