A study published in 2018 estimated the change in land area of Tuvalu's nine atolls and 101 reef islands between 1971 and 2014, indicating that 75% of the islands had GROWN in area, with an overall INCREASE of more than 2%. [a1, Nov 18 2022]

       Sea level rise may be a red herring there. But as Tuvalu is a really low-lying bunch of islands to begin with, it's *always* been susceptible to storm damage. It would be interesting to find a study of storm impacts for the same time frame that the sea level study (link).
