Useful in the kitchen or on bounty hunts.

|the IR used in night vision goggles and heat IR are slightly different frequencies. what you are looking for is a pyroelectric sensor that can be sonar(or otherwise) tuned for distance to the object being viewed. these exist(industrial and medical apps) but i'm not sure about in monacle form.
|You could incorporate on into a set of reading gasses to tell if your tea is cool enough to drink! Nice work but its not that entire original.
