Just make really long, really light wind chimes so that they respond to air movement in an almost draftless office situation. Since most of the casuses of the chiming would be people powered this might start to have an alert or alarm effect - so that you know when unseen doors are opening etc.

I have wind chimes indoors. Sometimes I aim a fan at them to keep them going and another set chimes when a wind comes through the back door. This chime is Japanese with a long paper hanging from the center, so a slight movement will cause it to move, like just walking past it.
For an alarm effect, I have bells on all my exterior doors.

I imagine in a big hall like a trainstation or some public service building we could hang a really big version. With ten meter long glistening steel tubes. They would always have a slight motion and sometimes slightly touch to produce a long low hum.

Wow, synchronicity, I just mentioned the rectally-fitted Aeolian harp..

Ah, that was perhaps a bit of a conversation-stopper..
