Insomnia Clock

A clock that doesn't display the time between bedtime and the alarm

Insomnia is made worse by watching the clock. Instead of thinking 'I've only got 2 hours until the alarm', or 'oh no, I've already woken up but I've only been asleep for an hour', the alarm's display would remain dark after you indicate that you're going to bed. It will only light up after the alarm goes off. To avoid temptation, you should destroy your watch before going to bed.

For peace of mind you should add an "I'm on" light so you don't lie there wondering if the thing is broken or the power's out and it's not going to wake you up on time.

This can be achieved by the old Navajo Indian trick called "turning the clock to face away from you" ...

What if you don't have a bedside table ?

What of you don't have a bed ?

What if the reason for your insomnia is the constant muttering of the Voices in your head, telling you to do bad things ... very bad things .... very bad, wicked things .... very bad and wrong, but they just keep on at you .... day and night .... and the headaches, the terrible headaches, you know those days you just want to fall down and bite the carpet ? Shhhh ... keep sharpening the edge.... quietly .... maybe they won't hear .... nearly sharp enough ..... look, how the moonlight glints on the blade, the tiny particles of metal shining like stars .... so beautiful .....

I'm torn on this one...having been awake many nights, sometimes it helps to know that you have enough time to fall back to sleep...[ ]
AND the voices in my head WANT to know what time it is!!!

If the power goes out in the night does it display 12:00 when turned on or does it just say 'No idea sorry, and you smashed your watch - unlucky!'

Go back to bed, 21 Q. You obviously need some more sleep.

+ Most cellphones can be turned off completely and will turn themselves back on when the alarm goes off.

I used to place my alarm clock across the room, and turn it around each night so I couldn't see it. That way it helped the insomnia, plus the "hit snooze" syndrome.
