Negative Feedback Buzzer for Red-Light Runners

A friend's son was nearly killed a few years ago when a red-light runner t-boned him (he is only alive now because of the proximity of the accident to a trauma center). This had me thinking about how often I see drivers run a red light when trying to slip through on a yellow light. And it had me thinking about what else can be done to reduce those super risky gambles on our roadways.

Red light cameras are a great idea, and they certainly deter a lot of drivers from taking a chance on a yellow light; but the level of precision and calibration needed to produce court-admissible evidence is too expensive for them to be installed everywhere. Another idea, red light speed bumps (link), is a glimmer of brilliance; but one considerable tradeoff is that they could cause real problems for emergency vehicles that have a legitimate reason for running reds.

Instead, I propose using the power of social shame. Whenever a car breaks a red light, a loud negative feedback buzzer sounds, highlighting the driver's reckless move and encouraging fellow motorists and standersby to turn their heads and aim their shaking fists at the driver.

This won't eliminate all red-light running (especially by psychopaths and by distracted drivers who entirely fail to see the traffic signal), but negative auditory and social feedback might reduce it enough to prevent some nasty accidents.

Maybe a spotlight that shines on and tracks with the offender would be better.

       1- No noise pollution.

2- Makes them more visible to warn people and make them aware.

3- Does the shaming thing more effectively since everybody has a visual and the perp would see his whole car light up with the "glow of shame."

All we need now is a way to make the original cone of red light coagulate and cling to the vehicle in an embarrassing way.

The method will lean on the fact that, in the wikipedia diagram of the Standard Model of Particle Physics, the photon is right next to the bottom quark. Some details remain to be resolved.

All the cars at the intersection, and any pedestrians who may carry the holstered version on their jogs, can leave semi-permanent comments all over the offender if they employ the Gummy Launcher of song and story.
