An app on your phone gauges your pet's interest in various shows and sends the information to the network for analysis. Eyes, head movement, if they sit upright or walk away. Do they bark? That would be very notable. All their responses to various scenes measured in real time as a way to create shows
designed for pets, BY pets.
These shows might be something like "Dog Pack" where from the pet's eye view, a pack of dogs runs around getting in various adventures. Maybe at some point they come up to a nice old lady's house and they give them all a treat. Then a cat runs by and they all chase it, but to be clear, it's the pet's reaction that is gauged and used to create future programming. That's the idea.
I don't know what they'd like, but the app would measure their attention and excitement and it would go into a database and be used to create shows basically designed by the pets.
I'd be curious to see what millions of dogs created through what would basically be a democratic process.
Cats would get a channel too. I'd start with "Mouse Hunt". Plot: There are mice. Hunt them. This might be more of an interactive where they actually lunge at the screen. Maybe just a bird they stare at. I've seen cats do that.
Hmm. Theoretically you could use this for humans too. That's scary.
Early studies on pets watching TV.

Face tracking technology.
https://www.youtube...watch?v=eGjOANDcpG0 Fairly easy to have an app gauge emotion, excitement, boredom etc. Dogs have very clear facial expressions. [doctorremulac3, Aug 21 2022]
Dogs especially have trackable facial expressions.

Mushroom TV. What my mushrooms prefer to watch. |
OK what about TV for stones? My pebbles would like to watch TV but an app might help find out what they enjoy watching. |
We already have TV for stones, its called The Home Shopping Network. (Zing!) |
You could put two TV sets facing each other, tuned to two different channels. That way the people on one set could watch the shows on the other, and vice versa. |
Don't you think it's strange that the people on TV shows rarely sit and watch TV? They're always doing interesting stuff, or talking to each other. |
I think theres an idea in that. That prank where you call two restaurant delivery services and have them talk to each other and get into a weird loop? Have two tv shows watching each other and adjusting to try to please the other show. Maybe thats how AI will become sentient. |
Hmm. Maybe I should contact the producers of that show. They're obviously into trying new stuff. |
Did they do a series of episodes showing people watching Gogglebox? |
Like those infinity mirrors only live. |
Now THAT'S new idea. You could zoom in. "Hey! They're watching us! Hi!". |
