This would be a service for people who want to motivate themselves for any reason for example quitting smoking, losing ten pounds, or finishing that novel -- but can't motivate themselves.

The company would hire violent criminals -- just out of prison and the client could hire that criminal to beat the crap out of them if they don't achieve their goal in a certain time frame.

The more violent the criminals would cost more. Let's face it. This is the only way people will really get motivated. And it would give criminals useful work!

Annotation:

I thought I'd hired a violent criminal, but it turned out he was a fraud.

Can I hire Ken Lay and punch back?

This would cause dilemmas for ex-cons.

They would be faced with the choice of giving up crime or hiring out their services to somebody else who wanted to give something up...

I guess they could always try and a grant from the government to beat themselves up ?

When I say 'grant' I don't mean a Mitchell brother by the way.

Sort of like "Quitter's Inc" by Stephen King- only it's your wife and kids that they beat the crap out of.

I don't even know where to begin with this one ..

In the States criminals already have great jobs with a top benefits package. All they have to so is get re-elected to the House every so often.
