Umm... It... I just don't know any more. There's not even enough of an idea for it to be wrong. |
Maybe it's some sort of Zen ? "The sound of one feather flapping" ? |
more like one feather writhing; I don't think any actual flying would be involved. |
All these feather ideas from [JesusHChrist] make me wonder if he might be feeling ... down. |
Nahhh, He's just a little under the feather...that's all. |
There's probably a reason why birds have evolved to
have more than one feather |
yes, they need two at the very least. [norm] you made me laugh. |

As I discussed in a different idea, linked, you don't actually need an aerodynamic opposing force if the motor is strong enough. [JHC] if you would come up with the math to prove it you would have an actual idea here. The problem is you still think it can move around in a circle in the air without flapping AND with nothing opposing its motion. That's called "reactionless force" and the laws of motion forbid it. You could add a rocket to oppose its movement, but then it all becomes a bit silly doesn't it? |
hmmm... you could do a weighted motor that, once its maximum speed had been reached, reversed. Of course you have to reverse the feather as well, then. |

[norm], pull your trousers up. It's not big, and it's not clever. But mostly, it's not big. |

is it possible to make an air celt (reverse spinning oblong)? if it is then you could filamentize the surface (maybe) to get two directions out of one shape. |
[JHC} I visited your web page and I noticed you actually made some things out of feathers. It is impolite of me, yet I am wondering if you could also invent things without feathers. |
Do as you think right though. Perhaps you are on to something wonderful and I just do not comprehend. |

I would also like to impolite and wonder the same thing. |
Also, [beany], could you be an angel and post a link to [JHC]'s web page? |
