Shipping Container Tetris

As anyone who's ever owned a shipping line knows, shipping containers are incredibly dull. They are all the same brick-shaped, uh, shape, and they are generally all the same size.

MaxCo., therefore, is seeking to promote its range of Tetris- themed, Tetris-shaped shipping containers. Obviously, they can only be rotated about a vertical axis when fitting them onto the ship, but that works well from the bird's- eye view of the crane operator.

On the one hand, the variety of shapes makes loading a ship much more difficult. On the other hand, though, any manufacturer who needs to ship giant letter-Ts, or animal welfare operatives who need to move an anaconda with a broken neck, can now choose a container ideally suited to their requirements. On yet another hand, the containers will tend to interlock to some extent, making the cargo all the more secure and reducing the incidence of container loss in stormy weather.

I still think that there should be a giant jig-saw puzzle with the pieces being the size and vertical height of shipping containers. This could only be solved by someone in possession of a very large port like Rotterdam, using all if its crane operators, along with a constant overview via a high flying drone.

Are these shipping containers magnetic, so that they snap?

The truck and trailers are going to be interesting and, of course, the new architects will have a set of starting designs.

Isn't the key benefit of intermodal containers that they're intermodal? How do you propose to carry Tetris piece-shaped containers by truck or train?

       Well, Tetris-piece-shaped trucks and trains.

What's awesome is when you get a full, complete layer with no gaps they all disappear!
