Gary has a Size 11 left foot, and a size 6 right foot. Harry has a size 6 Left Foot, and a size 11 right foot. They live in the same town, but don't know it.

Introducing Shoester, the online matching service for people with asymetrical feet. Simply register your right and left shoe size and your address, and Shoester will show you a list of people in your area with mirror image feet. Once you find a foot friend, you can each buy a pair of shoes that fit like a glove.

An Online shoe store will allow you to shop with foot friends around the world, in case no one in your town is your mirror image...

I wonder what gave you this idea?

obviously, glovester would find a market too. Perhaps people with only one leg might be able to use a similar service (assuming that there's a roughly even number of right and left limbs missing in the population).

       Po, oh yeah. That too.

<pedant> and I don't wnat to know how one gets assymetrical feet...</pedant>

       pedant? as in pedestrian?

I've seen a web site for an online shoe store for folks with mismatched foot sizes, or the single-footed.

They sell all their shoes by the half-pair. You can buy just one shoe, or two different sized ones. I'll see if I can find it. (It's not the Birkenstocks link on the other idea - this company I'm thinking of only sells shoes individually.)

Either I need this service or I have to shatter my other heel. Does it apply to width as well?

The National Odd Shoe Exchange is similar, but not similar enough to cry baked, in my opinion, for the following reasons:

       1. Shoester is peer to peer. NOSE is centrally managed.

       2. NOSE is a charity. They give free shoes and are supported by donations. Shoester simply connects people with complementary foot sizes, and lets them help each other.

       3. NOSE seems mostly concerned with those with foot related disabilities. While Shoester hopes to accomodate them, they also hope to help people who merely have different size feet.

In short, NOSE is a noble and worthy charity. Shoester is a networking tool for people with an odd dilemna...

       The traditional solution is best.

I have fairly normal feet, but I still get my shoes made to fit. The cobbler has a pair of lasts with my name on and quickly produces shoes to my exact size.

It's amazing what a difference it makes; Bally, Church's and Cheaney, Mruno Magli, etc. are either too tight in places or bend in slightly the wrong spot.
