To complement the square burger.

Wendy's likes to be unique with their square burger. Why not a square bun? Maybe they could add some substance to it too, so it doesn't collapse down 1/8" when you eat it. Maybe whole wheat...

First google link for “square bread roll” http://www.breadroll.co.uk/products.php
This company seems to have “baked” this product already... [pocmloc, Jul 18 2011]

       Is this not called Bread?
xenzag, Jul 18 2011

Heh. I misread "Bun" as "Bum".
hippo, Jul 18 2011

And I substituted "Sister" for "Square". Yikes.
calum, Jul 18 2011

Good idea but I think Whitecastle already does this.
doctorremulac3, Jul 18 2011

A Whitecastle thing is nothing like a Wendy's burger. Even the cows Wendys burgers are made from don't like to associate with whatever animal Whitecastle gets their meat from.

On that note, Whitecastle should add corresponding holes to their buns.
RayfordSteele, Jul 18 2011

I keep reading this as "Wendy's square bum", as in "Hey Wendy.... that's a square bum you've got on ye" (has to be heard in appropriate accent to be fully appreciated)
xenzag, Jul 18 2011

Now because of [hippo] and [xenzag], I can't see anything else but "bum". Aren't bums rather square sometimes anyway?
blissmiss, Jul 18 2011

Depends on how many Frosties they've packed on.
RayfordSteele, Jul 18 2011

I think the round bun/square burger thing has become kind of iconic for Wendy's. It would be unlikely they'd be willing to change it.
Alterother, Jul 18 2011

They don't have to be "willing". Even now, some EU bureaucrat is probably drafting the "Grilled meat patty and supporting leavened bread product harmonization regulations".

Oh, you're just grouchy because the BHO stopped accepting your calls.
Alterother, Jul 18 2011

[xenzag] A person with a square bum would be built like a brick outhouse, no?
mouseposture, Jul 18 2011

Quite possibly. Just hope you don't land a contract to re-point the masonry.

// the BHO stopped accepting your calls //

No, they still take our calls, but we get put through to someone called Biden who is about as much use as a chocolate frying pan.

Is that more, or less useful, than a chocolate covered manhole cover?
mouseposture, Jul 18 2011

Wow. I haven't read that story in 25 years at least.
nomocrow, Jul 18 2011

I thought *square wendy's bun* was a math problem...

I heard a legend that hamburgers were invented at a meatball convention when one of the exhibitors ran out of toothpick or little doilies. therefor I think its important to a hamburger that the meat be the dominant flavour. If there are too many tastes fighting it out, then you're eating a sandwich.

I heard a legend that hamburgers were invented at a meatball festival when one of the exhibitors ran out of toothpick or little doilies t put samples on. The bread was choses because it would nt interfer much with the tasted of the meat. I think its important to a hamburger that the meat be the dominant flavour. If there are too many ingredients fighting it out, then you're eating a sandwich. This is similar to the way that real italian pizza does not have more than one or two toppings.
bob, Jul 19 2011

Also Ciabatta could never cut it in a hamburger! much too tough!
bob, Jul 19 2011

I did some image searches for women named Wendy with unfortunately angular fundaments, but did not come up with any thing useful.

Eric appears to have broached this idea before, on...facebook? (link)
normzone, Jul 19 2011

Noooo, that's a bad place, you don't want to go there ...
