This is an alternative to cremation or burial. Times are changing and people are wanting alternatives. So rather than buying an urn or a casket, why not armour and join forces with your fellow expired citizens!

A burial mound houses battalions of standing ready and waiting warriors ready to fight in the after life. The climate is controlled, optimized to keep out those pesky worms and enhance the mummification process.

Rather than seeing your tombstone, they can see your arse kicking carcass!

[+], but on the whole I would much rather become a wall covering. A complete human skin, perhaps split sagitally and opened out to give a rear and front view, joined head-to-head, would add interest to an otherwise dull wall.

I don't earn enough ffs - bury me at the end of the garden. & sort out the spellings

Ah yes. I believe she has a partially non-functioning keyboard.
MaxwellBuchanan, Aug 23 2013

(Aside) Do terracotta armies imply a scorched earth policy?
spidermother, Aug 23 2013

Only if the kiln is too hot.
Alterother, Aug 23 2013

Well, it's a kiln field out there.
spidermother, Aug 23 2013

Idea start well, then goes to pot. Surprised no one's done the Greek urn joke.

Baked... for about 12 hours at 1100degC, by the Chinese Emperor Qin Shi Huang in about 210BC.

In other words, this is hardly a novel idea.
UnaBubba, Aug 24 2013

Yeah, probably couldn't get a novel out of it, a good short story perhaps.

Personally, I'm worried about the Working Time Directive, so if my body is working as a guard after my demise, what does it get to do on its days off?

UnaBubba, Aug 24 2013

If they owned a dairy could they make TerraCottage Cheese?
Grogster, Aug 24 2013

People should really be putting their idle halfbaking e-farts into sorting this whole death thing out, before it's too late. I simply don't care how the last of my refuse is preserved.

oh dear, I hadn't read down far enough to see [UB] mentioned my link before I posted it....Hi [UB]!! You have ESP. haha
