Since marshmallows float, I propose a new sport: Underwater Marshmallow Stacking.

2 teams of two take turns trying to develop the tallest (greatest depth) of marshmallow stack possible. Variables such as powdered-sugar/cornstarch dissolving and currents put an air of danger and suspense into a sport that ordinarily would be as exciting as watching paint dry.

Televised with underwater cameras, and coming soon to an ESPN X-Games episode near you.

Definately an 'amateur-size' stack here. [Cedar Park, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 21 2005]

One variation would be giving style points for stacking an Eiffel Tower or a Golden Gate Bridge.

Don't do this anywhere near Slidell, LA - the swamp tour operators there have trained the local 'gators to eat marshmallows... Seems the marshmallows are desirable as they're easy to see (for tourists and critters) and they float without thrashing about (unlike tourists). It's kind of incredible to watch a 14 foot monster go for a fluffy sugar treat, actually. I want to return and see how they react to Peeps.

Can't be any less exciting than golf.

The tour guide *did* suggest that we avoid collecting golf balls on Louisiana courses. Something about the 'gators using bait...

Not sure if it would work in reality, but you get a bun for the drawing.
