driving license for a car, like an ordinary license, but made out of cheese instead of plastic (the license, not the car*).

A cunningly manipulated hunk of swiss cheese, with your details spelt out by the holes, packed into a plastic cover, then lovingly irradiated.

So, if you get stuck in a snowdrift, there is at least something to eat.

This follows on from the less than successful "dowse your own driving license", which was a bit of bubble wrap with some of bubbles filled with water...

We will not even speak about the "your details spelt out in bananas as cuneiform driving license", damn those baboons

*Unless you have a Reliant Robin or something.

First usage of the phrase 'lovingly irradiated' I've seen. Regrettably, I've never driven cheese. and so have never thought to acquire a license to do so. I suspect it would have some of the same ride characteristics of my mother's Buick.

Definitely not - a good quality matured Parmesan handles much better than the average Buick, especially on corners.

Yes, but (obligatory Christopher Moore reference) you know how smug the soft cheeses can be.

       Happy now?

       Slight edit of title.
not_morrison_rm, Jul 22 2014

I'm not happy now. I wanted to drive cheese.

"This *is* a cheese chop shop, isn't it?"

       None grater, Sir.

If this idea was for the purpose of hypothetically being stuck in a snow drift and having something to eat, I'd rather mine be a meatball.

A few years back there was an advert for a car which had a city with people driving all sort of toy cars around. Which looked really fun. But then they had their car as a normal car which just looked boring in comparison. I wonder how their sales did.

Even further back I had a game called "Stunt Racer 2000" which let you turn your car into a block of cheese. Which I always did because this gave extra performance.

I rather liked the title the other way. It made my joke make sense...
