for unhighlighting text

I am a bit heavy handed with highlighter pens and often wish that I could unhighlight something from my documents.

a cellulose sticker, clear but tinted in all the usual colours might be the answer to my prayers. it would come on a roll like sellotape, so that you can stretch it out right across the line.

how would it stick? my first thought was that it could be held in place by a vacuum – you smooth it on. but I don’t think that will work. so post-it-notes weak glue is probably the better solution. just pull it off when you need to unhighlight your documents.

Sheer Post-Its http://products3.3m...Handler/output_html
3M actually markets these as a solution for teachers who don't want textbooks ruined by hilighters. [DrCurry, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

Scroll down a bit. Not 3M, but exactly what you're after, I believe. [DrCurry, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

I thought we'd done something like this before, but I can't find it. Just as well, as you've invented it.

I know what you're talking about [phoenix]. It was a pen that got rid of the useless bits within a text. I think this is different though, because it corrects unwanted highlighting. Nice [Po].

there are highlighters with an erasing end with some chemical that erases the highlighter

I like the erasable highlighting pens, and think they might be ideal here, though I wish they came in some color other than yellow (I have no idea why they don't).
