A binary keyboard with just two keys: 0 and 1. The keyboard would be normal size, but each key would take up half of it. This would be great for people with missing fingers/hands, as you could "type" in a sort of drumming motion. A laminated paper sheet listing binary to ascii conversions would be included.

A telegraph key is essentially a one key keyboard. Morse code is binary.
bungston, Dec 09 2005

Isn't morse code ternary? It consists of dots, dashes, and spaces. Two letter spaces might equal one word space, but you still need a "space" button along with the dot and dash buttons.

       Clearly not, duh.
DrCurry, Dec 11 2005

[phundug] - it was not so clear to me because I do not know much about Morse. Check the link. It turns out that it is all about timing - the space between words is 5x the space of a "dot" in a letter. Essentially a series of 0s to punctuate as you say.

I've got to vote against it as an idea... but that was hilarious.
