Building on the success of their Roomba Robot Garden Dog, the same company has now developed a mechanical window cleaner, appropriately named A Wandering Giraffe Will Clean Your Windows.
As the name suggests, this takes the form a mechanical/robot giraffe that will stride around a residential neighbourhood
on pre-assigned days and times, cleaning the windows, which it can easily reach with its long neck and extendable articulated tongue. Naturally there is a range of subscription charges for this service which includes several extras such as Gutter Blasting, Brass Door Knob Polishing (that tongue has a lot of smart actions) and Overhanging Small Branch Trimming (the mouth munching function is used for this)
Giraffes have large bodies, so sufficient water can be carried internally along with the power and motion system that enables it to function independently without over frequent resupply and charging.
As with Roomba Robot Garden Dog, neighbourhood surveillance is possible with the giraffe able to record and send pics of what it sees to devices on its subscription list.

This was an excellent idea when Roald Dahl had it in 1985. |
