Inflate soap and use all of it

The center of this bar of soap is a small hard sponge capable of, when freed, expanding to about the size of the original bar of soap. It contains some soap and is designed to stick very well to the soap around it. Normally when a bar of soap is used one is left with a useless little sliver. Take out the middle and it will wear unevenly and you'll still be left with a useless sliver. By filling that void with something that will not wear away you assure the entire bar of soap is used. At the end of the bar's use you'll have the soapy sponge left over for one more shower. After that you'll have a rough sponge for exfoliation or cleaning.

This is not really inflatable though, is it? More spring-loaded.

Just stick the "useless sliver" to the back of the next bar of soap. Problem solved. I've done this continuously for about 40 years or so...

My grandfather used to own a little plastic soap-remnant-cage, which solved this problem if you didn't mind a little abrasion from the edges of the little plastic bars.

The key is to do it while the larger soap is wet.
