Lots of women have hair that reaches a fair distance
down
their backs. When loose, the hair tends to get in the
way
of doing various things. This Idea is about a new way to
"tie it down" so to speak.
There already exist various hair-clips that are curved to
match the curve of the head.
This clip is fairly straight,
and features two main clip-gadgets. A second person is
probably needed to install this properly.
Let us suppose the hair goes down to the middle of the
back. Select a place about 7 cm higher than the end of
the
hair, and apply this clip to the blouse, horizontally across
the back. The clip locks into place and does not move
relative to the blouse.
Then lift the hair so that the end of the hair can also be
clipped. Note the hair is spread out across the width of
the back; it is not bunched-up like in a pony tail. Note
that some slack has been introduced; it is possible for
the
woman to bow her head forward without the hair being
"pulled" due to the ends being clipped-in-place.
That slack also allows rapid head-shakes, or body-
twistings
while dancing, and so on. But during all that motion, the
HAIR doesn't fling about much, because it has been
clipped
securely.

The ability to grow long hair from the head is a
unique "species recognition" characteristic of
humans, so certainly a man with long hair could use
this clip (with a shirt--cloth is cloth, regardless of the
style or name). But most humans who actually let
their hair grow long are female, so that is why the
main text focused on them. |

Actually I don't find my hair gets in the way much, but it might be
useful for culinary and medical purposes. |

Males in some cultures have extremely long hair -
for example Jains, or Rastafarians. For men and
women, even if shirtless, long hair could be clipped
using the proposed device to pants or other
garments of the lower body. Males, because of
relative hirsuteness, could also dispense with
garments and practicably clip hair to hair, using any
body hair growth available starting 7 cm from the
end of the hair and moving down. Those men and
women without adequate endogenous body hair
could cultivate some for the purpose using
minoxidil. |

stated purpose of not being easily dislodged during
rapid headshakes and body twisting would also allow
developers to test the clip by sneaking up behind
someone and suddenly attaching it. |

longish hair are often required to confine it in a hair-
net, to keep it out of the food. The confinement
system described here might also be suitable. |
