Blown-up Bag-in-the-Box Bottom Bag

to make life easier for millions of wine drinkers

Pouring from the ever more popular wine box is not always uncomplicated. To raise its spigot over a glass in the middle of a table or counter, one must hold it up by the handle or rest it on a metal support.

A light, effective elevating structure might be an inflatable “bag” that comes with the bag in the box. The plastic tube support would be folded under a bottom, tear-away flap. Two lungfuls of air should be sufficient to inflate and stiffen the tube truss framework with one diagonal on each side.

A self-closing valve and a wide base would ensure that the heavy box stands sturdy eight inches over the serving surface. Skål!

I dunno. Think I'll stick to the still-popular wine bottle format.

Doubtless housed in a crumpled paper bag in your case, Doctor.
