The lift gate is modified to open farther than usual, with reinforced solid struts that snap into place to brace it open. Inside the cargo area are two weight stacks with steel tubing going up to the roof liner, through which pulley cables are routed to the lift gate. An integrated pull-up bar folds
down from the inside surface of the lift gate, between the cable handles. Fold-down "legs" that are stowed under the bumper and twist to tighten as needed provide stability and prevent the vehicle from rocking on the suspension. An FID bench that hooks into place over the lip of the cargo area completes the setup.
Now you can get a quality workout anywhere!

So youy have a gym on your camping trip on the beach or by a lake? |
|

This is amazing, I actually want one! [+] |

Or on your lunch break, or in the parking lot of Target while your wife's inside shopping. Anywhere you got your wheels, you got your gym. |

I would not buy one. But I would watch the sped-up video of someone setting one up, using it for a minute and then packing it away. |

There is some science yet to be done about exactly how fast any given video needs to be sped up to make it funny. |

As far as setup goes, it's pretty simple. Fold down and twist the two support legs until level. Pop the hatch, snap the support braces into place (like the folding legs on a portable card table). Set your bench, and start your workout. |

To make the idea a bit more halfbaked..... fit brackets to the rear hatchback door; a variety of handles to the inside and outside panels and use it as a hinged weight, with the disks being loaded unto the brackets, and the door opened upwards and downwards for exercise. Batteries are very heavy, (as are the wheels) so modified versions could be fitted to an olympic bar for squats. In fact every part of a car is capable of offering resistance training..... extra strong hinges in the doors..... seats that resist pushing back.... jumper cables that double up as "battle ropes".... pushing the whole car in a circle with the steering locked. |
