The bottom of the collar has a projector that projects
controls in front of the dog that they can select with
their paw. One is on at
all
times, the "TALK" button. When they hit it with their
paw,
the
other controls are projected. "OUT", "PLAY", "FOOD",
"WATER" which when selected, causes
a dog sounding
voice to play that word from a
speaker in the collar.
The projections would be
simplified pictures of the request but could even be
scenes projected showing the door being opened for
instance and when they put their paw on it a sensor
senses the full scene has a dog paw in front of it and
selects it.
As the dog's vocabulary grows, more button choices can
be
added. "SCRATCH EARS", "PAT MY HEAD", "CUDDLE",
"TIRED", "SQUIRREL",
"STUPID CAT" etc.
Alternately, when the dog barks, the projector can light
up
and project the various projected buttons.

I'm surprised more research isn't being done on
this. I think we're evolving dogs to eventually
speak actual words. Their mouths have the
physical parts to form words, they do make talking
sounds already, they already have an innate
understanding of communication, mood, anger,
praise etc. |

Once you get parent dogs to train their puppies to
talk we've got an actual evolutionary step here. |
