there's dessert pizza, ice cream sandwiches, dessert coffees, and all manner of other food that has morphed into a dessert.

I think the next step is dessert soup. maybe a chocolate milk or pop (soda) base. the ingredients are up to you. actual fruit, candies, unliquid chocolate, etc. I personally think that cola and lemon soup with bits of lemon and lime would be nice. maybe hot chocolate and clodhopper with some vanilla wafers crunched up on top. liquorice allsorts in orange pop, maybe. the possiblities are pretty well unlimited. and please don't compare my idea to pudding. if you do, then you disgust me.

Hmmmm...a hot soup of chocolate ganache and marshmallows. Oh my gawd, I just got goosebumps.

hhmm how about smarties and mixed nuts in thick white chocolate?

I just realized that most of the candy would melt if heated, forming a bowl of sugary goo, but really, is that a bad thing?

With luck it will cure the common cold.

In a way it reminds me of cookie crisp breakfast cereal.

What? I've had soup for dessert loads of times (e.g. chilled cherry soup).

Fruit soups are way baked, or should that be boiled. A quick google turned up 7740 hits for fruit soup, 1910 for sweet soup and 885 for dessert soup.

Any dessert involving ice cream after about 20 minutes? Does that count as soup because its mostly liquid? Come to think of it - what is the essential quality of soupiness which makes soup soup? It can't just be a dominant amount of liquid - otherwise coffee would be soup!

       Custard soup ? eweck!
murder, Aug 27 2004

surely custard with added bits i.e fruit would be the equivalent to dessert soup. Can also be served hot.

I also never understood why chilled strawberry / cherry / blueberry soup is served as an appetizer.
