For aggravating laptops like my Lenovo G5

AutoHotkey http://ahkscript.org/
Free key remapping (and macro-writing) software for Windows. In your script, just write ‘Numpad0::return’, ‘NumpadAdd::return’ and so on for all numpad keys. [Rory O'Kane, May 14 2015]

There's software that can do this, xmodmap in *nix and various others in Windows.

I though turning off numlock does effectively disable them.

Not if it's like my laptop and if you turn off numlock, they turn into arrow keys.

The traditional double-barrel 12-gauge would be your friend on this one. AA buckshot, both barrels, close range.

^ wait a few years and a Lenovo update will do it for you.

I rather like mine (mostly because it's just an IBM with a slightly different paintjob), and haven't managed to accidentally trigger the NumLock yet.

If you can't do it in your BIOS, then there's hacks for the Windows registry.

       To disable the keys altogether?

And then what if I want the numbers?
