Fireman's Emergency Red Carpet Hose

The most bizarre aspect of Putin's meeting with "himself" was the carpet. If you look at the video below, you will see that "His" carpet is about ten feet wide, while the one Putin walks along is about 4 inches wide. The Putin carpet eventually joins the main one at right angles, where the two protagonists then meet.

You may ask yourself two questions based on what you see:
1 why was this particular arrangement devised?
2 why was a pink carpet used?
Beyond the questions (to which I have my own theories), the carpet phenomena also presents two more ideas:

Idea 1- to equip each of the numerous fire tender vehicles in any municipality with an extra dual purpose carpet covered VIP hose. This hose functions perfectly well for delivering water, but in the case of an "unexpected celebrity arriving" emergency, it can be rolled out, trampled flat ready for the VIP to traverse. (just as Putin does with great dexterity)

Idea 2 - to create a meandering carpet hose pathway, which suspected drunks must negotiate. (or to diagnose the early stages of dementia)
